SAN FERNANDO VALLEY – The largest telecommunications union in the United States threw its support behind Adrin Nazarian’s run for the Assembly today, hailing the candidate’s broad experience in the Valley and Sacramento.
Leaders of the Communications Workers of America, which represents more than 700,000 men and women working in broadcasting, cable TV, journalism, education and other fields, expressed support for Adrin and urged others to do the same.
“There is no doubt in our minds that Adrin Nazarian represents the best choice for the 46th Assembly District,” said Alton Reed, chairperson of the Legislative Political Action Committee for CWA local 9003. “We’ve worked closely with Adrin for years, having seen up close how devoted he is to public service and working families throughout our state. For those who believe that in demanding more from our elected officials, we will get more, I ask that you join me in supporting Adrin Nazarian for Assembly.”
Adrin currently serves as chief-of-staff to L.A. City Councilmember Paul Krekorian. He grew up in the San Fernando Valley, attending high school there before receiving his degree in Economics from UCLA in 1996. He has been a CORO Fellowship in Public Affairs program participant, a board member of the East Valley YMCA and YWCA, and a founding member of the Generation Next Mentorship program.
The newly drawn 46th Assembly District includes the Los Angeles neighborhoods of North Hollywood, Toluca Lake, Studio City, Sherman Oaks, Valley Village, Valley Glen, Van Nuys, Panorama City, North Hills, Lake Balboa and the Hollywood Hills. The primary is June 5, 2012.
