SAN FERNANDO VALLEY – The Los Angeles Airport Peace Officers’ Association (LAAPOA) endorsed Adrin Nazarian for State Assembly today, citing his long-held commitment to public safety and a tenure in public service built on responsible governance. The organization represents sworn police officers and firefighters assigned to protect and serve Los Angeles International Airport, LA/Ontario International Airport and Van Nuys Airport.
“Adrin has been working as a public servant on important issues for quite some time, his views towards continuing to strengthen public safety and ensuring government is proactive are key issues to help move California forward,” said Marshall McClain, president of LAAPOA. “LAAPOA is proud to give Adrin Nazarian our endorsement and full support in his race for State Assembly.”
“The Los Angeles Airport Peace Officers’ Association knows that public safety has and will continue to be one of my highest priorities,” Nazarian said. “I am honored to have their support and, if I am fortunate enough to be elected, will work closely with the LAAPOA and other law enforcement agencies to ensure that public safety is never comprised by politics.”
As the Chief-of-Staff to then-Assemblymember Paul Krekorian, Adrin helped craft legislation that lowered speed limits, protected minors from predatory talent agencies, fought in Sacramento to balance budgets without comprising public safety, and protected communities by working on legislation to evict convicted felons from their rental properties.
The newly drawn 46th Assembly District includes the Los Angeles neighborhoods of North Hollywood, Toluca Lake, Studio City, Sherman Oaks, Valley Village, Valley Glen, Van Nuys, Panorama City, North Hills, Lake Balboa and the Hollywood Hills. The primary is June 5, 2012.
