Assemblymember Adrin Nazarian championed a huge win for patients against health insurance companies. “Step therapy” or “fail-first” allows insurance plans to deny coverage of newer, effective medications until patients try older, cheaper options first. AB 374 gives doctors exemption options to override Step Therapy, putting patients first.

In Assemblymember Nazarian’s first term in office, he passed AB 577, which overturned the ban on light-rail in the San Fernando Valley. This legislation has opened the door for real mass transit options in the Valley.

Governor Brown signed sweeping gun control legislation passed by the Legislature in the wake of too many senseless mass shootings. California has taken decisive action because the Republican-lead Congress refuses to stand up to the NRA and pass common sense gun control.

The California Legislature passed a landmark budget that prioritizes earthquake preparedness. “It is not a question of if, but when, an earthquake strikes. We must take immediate steps to protect property and save lives,” stated Assemblymember Adrin Nazarian.

Today, Assemblymember Adrin Nazarain joined with the Valley Industry and Commerce Association, the California League of Conservation Voters, the Greater San Fernando Valley Chamber of Commerce, the United Chambers of the San Fernando Valley and the Natural Resources Defense Council in support of Proposition 1. If passed, the measure would provide funding for much needed investments as part of a statewide, comprehensive water plan for California.
