Reflecting Commitment to Jobs and Community, Business and Environmental Leaders Endorse Adrin Nazarian for Assembly

SAN FERNANDO VALLEY – A slew of business, community and environmental leaders threw their support behind Adrin Nazarian today, illustrating his deep commitment to economic development and environmental stewardship in the race for the Valley’s newly drawn 46th Assembly District.

Those announcing their support include Greg Lippe, former chair of the Valley Industry & Commerce Association; Charles Sulahian, owner of one of the Valley’s most beloved cafes, Marie et Cie, and Business Representative for Neighborhood Council Valley Village; and Studio City Chamber of Commerce member Susan Blau.

“In working closely with Adrin on a range of issues, it’s clear to me that he has the know how and devotion to get this state back on track,” said Susan and her husband Ben Di Benedetto. “As we continue to dig ourselves out of this recession, it’s even more important to elect leaders willing to do the heavy lifting it will take to fix our hobbled economy. Adrin is just that leader and I’m proud to support him.”

Environmental leaders also announced their support, including Laurie Cohn, founder of the nonprofit group Save L.A River Open Space and Sarah Burns, a former Director of Development for the Institute of the Environment at UCLA and a past Director of Public Affairs at Planned Parenthood.

“Adrin has consistently proven a results-oriented style of leadership to preserve our natural beauty, including a host of projects to ensure the L.A. River – a testament to our city’s past and a beacon for its future – is maintained for generations to come,” Cohn said. “Once elected, I know he will continue his advocacy and fight for open space.”

“There is no doubt in my mind that Adrin is the best candidate in this race when it comes to women’s rights,” said Sarah Burns. “Among the issues closest to my heart are reproductive rights and the safety of women. Through his work with Planned Parenthood, Adrin has consistently shown a willingness to stand up for what’s right, which is why I’m eagerly supporting his drive to represent the people of the Valley in Sacramento.”

The newly drawn 46th Assembly District includes the Los Angeles neighborhoods of North Hollywood, Toluca Lake, Studio City, Sherman Oaks, Valley Village, Valley Glen, Van Nuys, Panorama City, North Hills, Lake Balboa and the Hollywood Hills.
